We are a friendly village WI with membership hovering around the 30 mark. We
meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 2 pm in the Village Hall, Long
Lane except for July when we have an outdoor meeting in one of our members’
gardens.We take part with varying degrees of success in darts, scrabble and
quizzes and also have craft meetings and a drama group.
Every summer we have outings to places of interest and each month our
walking group trot off on a countryside ramble. (With blisters to prove it!)
Our meetings range from the sedate when we have a serious speaker to the
hilarious when our own drama group provides the entertainment. We have a
raffle and a sales table which includes preserves, produce, and plants from our
own gardens. We also have a competition each month and, of course, t
he keenly contested “Bloom of the Month”.
Our field of interests and social events are widened by belonging to the Hamble
River Group of WI’s.Our meetings end with tea and biscuits and lots of chat.
