Bursledon is an active village with a wide variety of events
throughout the year, many taking place in our Village
Hall, and these slideshows illustrate just a few of them.
This year is the Village Hall's Centenary and several extra
events are taking place. We began our celebrations with
the AGM, followed by wine and canapés, which all
contributed to a very enjoyable evening.
On the 25th March we held an Edwardian Tea Party for
80 plus people. The Deputy Mayor of Eastleigh Councillor
John Cauldwell and Mrs Cauldwell joined us and he said
how much they enjoyed the afternoon. He was also joined
at the table by Rev Peter Vargeson and Hugh Millar Chairman of the Bursledon Parish Council.
Hampshire County Council “Hog the Limelight” initiative provided two of our recent centenary events.
A visit of the“Farnham Maltings”Theatre Company in December - A cast of professional actors who
entertained us with a delightful interpretation of “Miracle on 34th Street” using a cast of just 4 actors
and 3 puppets. Wonderful! In February, a semi-improvised show by Kevin Tomlinson. Kevin, a
professional actor, used the theme of “The Seven Ages of Man” to bring an exuberant, hilarious and
sometimes poignant performance that was enjoyed by everyone. Kevin was ably assisted by Abbe Hood
and members of the audience he recruited during the performance. Superb entertainment!
A Barn Dance on St Georges day was yet another very successful venture with 80+ attending.
