Snap up a prize!
The Parish Plan steering group is organising a photography competition to find pictures of Bursledon for inclusion in the completed plan. This doesn’t just mean pictures of the prettier parts of Bursledon such as the windmill, but other less photographed parts too, for instance the school and the local shops. A comprehensive view of Bursledon is what is needed.
If you would like to enter the competition, then please put prints your photographs - you may enter up to 4, size 6” x 4” approximately - in an envelope in the post box of the Village Hall. The photographs need to be taken on a digital camera so that those which are chosen can be included in the final plan. Please put your name and contact details of the back of the photograph. Entry in the competition will be taken as agreement that they may be used in the Parish Plan.
A selection of the photographs entered will be displayed in the newly-completed John Sneezum Gallery in the Village Hall and judged during the Art Society Show on 1st and 2nd December. Two prizes will be awarded based on the quality of the photographs rather than the subject matter, one for £50 and one for £25, but it is hoped to include a number of the photographs in the final plan. Closing date for entries is 20th November. If you need any more information, please ring Diana on 0238040 2286.
New extension
We are so delighted with this. Even if you don’t enter a photograph in the competition, do go and look some time. We were up there on Wednesday with the sun streaming in through the window, looking over the Rec. It has certainly been worth all the effort, even if it only started off as a way to deal with a flat roof which insisted on leaking.
